Supply & sourcing

Flavour and ingredient supplier for Canadian manufacturers

Flavas Canada supplies flavours (spelled flavors in the United States), natural colours, taste modulators, palatants and functional ingredients to manufacturers across Canada — from an Edmonton base, with a global partner network behind the catalogue. If you are sourcing for a new product, reformulating, or replacing a supplier who has become hard to reach, this page tells you exactly what we supply and how a first order starts.

What we supply

Flavours and flavour systems

Natural and nature-identical profiles for beverage, bakery, dairy, savoury, confectionery and brewing: liquid, water-soluble, oil-soluble, spray-dried, bake-stable and heat-stable formats, with dosage ranges and stability limits stated per item code.

Natural colours

Carotenoid, anthocyanin, spirulina, carmine-alternative and caramel shades, matched to your target colour and screened for pH, light and heat exposure in your actual process rather than in an ideal buffer.

Sweetness, masking and modulation

High-intensity sweeteners, sweetness enhancers, bitterness blockers and masking systems for sugar reduction, plant protein off-notes, vitamin and mineral loads, botanical extracts and active pharmaceutical bitterness.

Palatants and feed ingredients

Dry and liquid palatants, digests and coating systems for kibble, treats and wet pet food, plus feed flavours, sweeteners and yeast products for poultry, swine, cattle and aquaculture rations.

Who we supply

  • Food and beverage manufacturers, co-packers and private-label producers
  • Craft breweries, seltzer producers and non-alcoholic beverage brands
  • Dairy and dairy-alternative processors

Sourcing by division

How a first order starts

  1. 1. Tell us the brief, not just the item

Product type, process conditions, target dosage, pack format, label constraints and whether the product needs a natural claim. A brief at that level usually removes two rounds of sampling.

  2. 2. Samples with documentation

Bench samples ship with the specification, dosage range, allergen and gluten statement, composition and carrier breakdown, and any certification copies you need for your QA file.

  3. 3. Trial support and scale-up

We work through the bench and pilot trials with you, adjust the profile against your process rather than a lab ideal, and confirm the dosage that holds through shelf life before you commit to a production batch.

  4. 4. Supply, labelling and bilingual wording

Ongoing supply with Canadian documentation, plus the English and French common names your artwork needs so bilingual labelling does not become a launch-week problem.

Sourcing questions

Do you supply across all of Canada?
Yes. We are based in downtown Edmonton and supply manufacturers nationally, with documentation prepared for Canadian labelling and CFIA requirements.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Minimums depend on the item and its format. Bench samples for evaluation are provided without a minimum, and we confirm production minimums and lead times with the quotation for the specific item code.
Can you match a flavour we already buy?
Usually. Send the current profile description, dosage, format and any label constraints, and where possible a sample of the finished product. Matching works from what the flavour has to do in your process, not from reverse-engineering a competitor's formula.
What documentation comes with an approved item?
Specification sheet, dosage and stability guidance, allergen and gluten statements, composition and carrier breakdown, safety data sheet, and certification copies such as kosher, halal or organic where they apply to that item code.
Do you provide support in French?
Yes. Technical discussion, documentation review and label wording are handled in English or French, including the French common names required on Canadian bilingual labels.
